Was jogged by another thread: Deluxe Rockers!

I very much like it but think many would find it off the beaten path based on the strong combo of leather, dirt and raspberries.

I thought I posted here the other day but apparently it didn't take:

My off the wall scent is Midnight Stag from Chiseled Face. Holy smokes.... I've had folks describe the scent as if they set a leather couch on fire and sprayed it with WD-40.

It really smells like a leathery, rubbery, smokey garage.

I used the B&M 42 this morning and a fine shave it was - I don' think I'd list in the off the wall scents. Its an upbeat, optimistic scent that I do enjoy. Its definitely not one of the ordinary bay rum/barbershop/ etc etc scents - a bit different. I'm going to go ingot he B&M thread and ask Will about how he came up with it and why. I want to know what he was going for.

I'm pretty sure the notes were all inspired by Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. At one point the Infinite Improbability Drive brings into creation a pot of petunias and a sperm whale (several miles up.) The Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster, a commonly mentioned drink, was described as "like being slapped with a slice of lemon - wrapped around a large gold brick."

I agree with the comment about XPEC. Smells like an old lady chain smoker or what you'd imagine cologne for a corpse might be like. I no longer use mine, just can't handle that scent.

Margaritas in the Arctic is what I'd call off the wall but wonderfully so.

Wow, based on old lady chain smoker and cologne for a corpse I think I'll pass on the Xpec. Smile

To me it smells like bandaids in a way. Never picked up the corpse cologne but now that you mention it...

Don't think I have ever mentioned it but I would not be surprised in the least to find that Xpec and Tabula Rasa shared the same manufacturer. Texture, look and performance all very similar. TR offers more interesting flavors.

I've decided that the Hawaiian White Ginger splash aftershave that an Etsy artisan made for me is a little too sweet and cloying, so I've suggested that she either decrease the scent strength or else balance the sweetness with some added amber or musk. I think she's going to reformulate it and send me a sample.

I deleted mine because they weren't really off the wall scents.
