Good evening all! Due to the self given title in my signature I was asked to start a thread showing my candy dish soap bowls. Also felt it would be a good place for others to share their unique or re-purposed bowls/dishes for soaps. Feel free to post away at what you got!  Smile

I got into using them due to their perfect size and unique shapes, colors, etc. and started to make a theme out of it. Plus I wanted to do something different and get a little break from the norm. I do not have many due to space at the moment plus I have to really like a soap before I find and designate it a bowl but they can be found for next to nothing. Yard sales are a good place to find odds and ends you can re-purpose if you use your imagination.

I have a few pictures of some when I got them and posted on another forum but others I've shown in the SOTD's. Here's some pics of each and what they hold. The Amber dish is probably my favorite so far of the group.

Light Blue -  2 pucks of LSdM (Donkey Milk soap)
Amber dish - CRSW Spiced Amber
Silver lidded dish - SV Tundra Artica
Frosted Blue flower dish - B&M Latha Lavanda
Frosted Rose dish - Institute Karite off the block
Olive color dish. Looks more brown in pics than in person - CRSW Olivia

That's pretty cool! Never thought of that. I would be afraid I'd break the glass though. I occasionally get a nice little "ting" from the brush on the bowl which is why I'm glad all of these are pretty thick!

I'm glad you posted. I have yet to see a shaving mug or soap holder that I really like.

Of the pics you posted, the one I like best is the one with the glass bottom and metal top.

That was another reason I got into these. I find a lot of the tins or bowls to be aggravating to load from and prefer a wider mouth. All of these make loading easy and provide enough lip so that soap is not running down the sides of the bowl.

I was actually a little torn with what I wanted to place in that one. The next day my Artica Tundra arrived and knew it was the one!

Thank you, Freddie.
The bowls are beautiful and your photos do them justice.

I promised I would take part in this thread but I will only do one bowl per day
Us retired male housewives are not very efficient. Okay I am inefficient.
I still must wash the tile floors today and make my supper.

Here goes. My first wet shave lather bowl. It worked fairly well and other than a few cuts I was happy with my first wet shave.
So I rinsed the bowl and set it on my supper table table. My first spoonful of chicken soup convinced me that a mere rinse was not nearly enough. Soapy soup is not gourmet food.

I only used it once.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Mickey
