EFDan, I have a V1 Stainless. I get a close comfortable shave with two passes and a few slight touch ups. I would expect a three pass shave to do this for most anyone.

of course, there is some learning curve with any new razor, even one that is easy to use like the OneBlade products.

I've used the V1 and liked it. Every video I have seen with the Core shows people shaving over and over and over the same spot. That seems odd to me.

I don't have a Core and can't speak to that. I guess we are looking at one of two things. Either the Core, which has only been on the market for a week or so, takes a while to learn and use effectively or the Core doesn't provide the great, skill free close and comfortable shave that the stainless versions provide.

I found it took at least 3X the passes.

And that manner of use is almost completely devoid of what we think of as technique-angle, pressure, etc.

For we aficionados, who want a closer shave....

I don't recall getting a close shave was a problem with my Fusion or Mach 2-3. May not have been pleasurable but it certainly wasn't difficult. I'm not buying the cart users aren't looking for close shave thing here.

My mini review after 6th shave with Core and Feather:

I had issues during my first couple of shaves but then I figured out the angle. Now I am listing razors that I don't use on BST(s), I also plan to try out my 'not so sure' safety razors and put a few/most of them on BST(s). Once I get the razor count to a sensible number, I will purchase the Genesis.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I need to do the same. Not for a genesis, but to clear out what I never use.
