Shane, great looking razor! I hope it shaves as good as it looks . . . .
When designing a razor these days, do you ever consider how easy or difficult it will be for the Chinese manufacturers to copy it?

I've just started emailing them the CAD files directly to save everyone the headache.

But the actual answer is a yes-and-no answer. Over the last several years I've made it clear that I'm only interested in pursuing products that move the needle in some way and bring something new to the table for the primary Blackland lineup. That's reflective of my own interests (normal razors are boring to make) and a reaction to competition broadly. It probably also makes it harder for Chinese companies to knock off, but that's more a byproduct of making more interesting and challenging things than it is a goal. Blackland has carved out a space where all our products are truly novel. The Blackbird is really the only derivative product remaining, but it has some novelty in design that others have certainly imitated over recent years.

beautiful and ingenious design! I've enjoyed my vintage GEM, but this novel, modern interpretation is enticing!

Shane, congrats again on the innovation.

What's the over under for the launch date for scumbag counterfeiter Yaqi to come out with a clone?

Hate what those pricks have done copying the Vector.

Maybe. There’s more space so the numbers are bigger than on the Osprey. Black is a new failure point so we’ll do it only if needed.

Thank you for the response. Looking hard at this one and 99% sure I'm going to grab one. Just don't want to be one of the early bird buyers and then find out it's available later. Thanks and again congratulations on the design!

Any chance we could buy the new handle for our original Sabres?

....still waiting patiently for a Blackland injector.

Then again, I have zero need for a razor in a different format. AC & DE are plenty good for me...says the guy who'll likely pony-up if an injector is ever released, hahahaha.

Seriously though, the new Sabre looks awesome. Glad guys in the market for such can scratch that itch.

Really looking forward to this one with this clever & brilliant design upgrade. As always constantly thinking outside of the box in both design, art & functionality. Pushing the envelope is always the path for innovation and improvement. The OG Sabre is a rock solid razor and I would never say that it’s long in the tooth or an overweight or bloated looking razor. It has personality and is still different from it’s competitors while still being a very capable razor. This New Sabre though is one slick looking razor holder that looks mean & lean. I’m really hooked into this one and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’s still on schedule for release this month or early next. Skunkworks at Blackland is always wheeling & dealing in the hardware department and forever working the gears of forward shave implementation progress….
