Already have the Era with plates 4 + 5 SB, but ordered another two complete razors and an additional plate, as a backup to the backup.

PSA:
If your Era arrives with gritty threads it probably just needs to be cleaned. Soap, water, and a pipe cleaner took care of it for me. The threads engage smoothly now. Tried a toothbrush first but it could not adequately reach the female threads inside the handle.

Hey guys, how the the level one OC compare to a post war Gillette Tech? And the level 5 OC to a RR GC OC .68 and .84 and also a TI Blackbird?

Looks like I just picked up the last OC level 5 plate. Level 4 OC are still available. If you were thinking about buying one, I would pick one up asap before those are gone too.

I had my first shave with the Era SB2. Overall, I was a little disappointed with the shave. The build quality was first rate, but I could only squeeze a Socially Acceptable Shave despite using four passes. Maybe it will improve with time and experience. I was debating between the SB2 and the OC3. I prefer safety bar razors and usually lean toward gentle razors so I went with the SB2.

After the first shave with the SB2, I went ahead and ordered the OC4.

I almost feel with the era it's best to start more aggressive and work your way down. I started with a level 3 SB plate and it was FAR too mild...I ended up swapping to the level 5 SB and picked up a level 4 OC after Shane announced they had to stop producing the era.

I had my second shave with the Blackland Era SB2 razor. It went a little better than the first one in that I didn't quite get to DFS, but I only used 3 passes plus touchups. An improvement. Also a positive about using the very mild SB2 is that I am not getting any irritation. I don't chase BBS but I would like to get to DFS shaves with this setup. Endeavor to Persevere.
