Awesome!  Thought that might have also been the case.  Used it already (base plate level 2). Loved it.  May need to get the 3 or even 4.  I am not one for aggressive feel, but this feels so smooth, I would be willing to experiment with the baseplates.  Cheers!

Gather there were snark replies to my enquiry. Apologies but not something been following and rarely on social media over past couple years (just too toxic)

We’re clearly having some packaging issues during transit so we’ll be looking into the fix asap. If there’s any damage to the razor, shoot us an email.

Grip rings are for adding to the handle to increase/customize grip as desired. You can check it out on our website as well.

Ahhhhh. Thanks Shane! Apologies. It not mine; simply forewarding on abroad. Shall give it a look over before shipping. BTW, anything special about the blades? Which Personna are they?

Definitely no need to apologize! The blades are Lab Blues. Some have blue wrappers while most are white. Same blade either way. Nothing special about them and I recommend using a blade you know and love first. Always good to minimize variables.

I'm very glad that the decision was made to include grip rings.  I will reserve judgement until my Era arrives, but chances are good that I will use them.

I received my era today.  The handle, base plate and top cap were assembled but they were loose.  also, the insert where the razor and accessories box goes was all torn up...

standby for some photos..

Thanks for the pics, Andrew. To be clear, the reason the razor was loose is due to the package breaking. As mentioned above, we are working on packaging revisions to resolve this issue now. We'll have a fix in place before any new Eras are shipped once we're restocked.

I'm sorry to hear that andrewjs18.   I hope nothing in the shipment was marred of damaged.

OTOH it must be my lucky day.  Not only did I receive an Era today, but mine arrived impeccably assembled in the presentation box, with the stand in a separate matching white box.  Both boxes were cocooned in enough black crepe-like paper to protect them and keep them from shaking around inside the shipping box.

Packaging was similar to Andrew's with less damage to it. Inside razor was just fine; the cap was not tight, but close to being fully tight. No complaints really. I like the packaging. The magnetic part is a nice touch and with just a little reinforcement in a few spots it'll be fine. I've seen much worse that I never complained about. The razor is okay, the outside is nice if I want it for display purposes. Looks nice, and hard to imagine that it is 3D printed. I look forward to using it sometime, and a few extra blades of what I primarily use!

just to be clear, I didn't notice any damage to the razor itself, just the interior packaging. I only quickly checked it out before heading into work this afternoon though. I'll inspect it further tonight.

I will say, this thing has some heft to it! the handle alone weighs 2.5oz according to my scale.
