Tallow & Steel is great because it is harder. I find too many artisan soaps are sold with to much water in them. Another reason I like Mike's...not too soft. Maybe Ryan can check in if he sees this.

Although, I don't own many B&M soaps because my favorite scents are not part of the regular line up. But Will's soaps are one of the best out there, if not the best IMO. MW on the other hand has loads of awesome scents at the best prices which makes Michelle a top choice and hard to beat. Her soaps take a little more work but when you get there, you'll see why the soap is so special. I have a very hard time in deciding who has the better soap. I feel MW offers a slightly better post shave, while B&M offers a user friendly soap that a 5 year old could probably lather. And keep in mind, B&M does not slack in the post shave or slickness department, hence the 'slightly better' comment. They are both truly awesome soaps that offer so much bang for your buck.

I don't believe you could go wrong with either artisan. But as always, scents are subjective so you would have to read some descriptions and decide what best suits your taste

I've tried both B&M and Mystic Water and I agree, they are top-notch artisans. I probably reach for B&M more often than any other soap brand in my den. I have quite a few - Limon, Fireside, Night Music, Leviathan, Beaudelaire, First Snow and Dickens. I plan to buy Diamond and Petrichor this weekend. One point regarding B&M, at least in my opinion, is that the soaps are not always ideal for the new wet shaver. Will's scents are unique and difficult to call "daily drivers".

MW is a great mention. I own only two, older tins of Cuppa Joe and Lily of the Valley. Performance is 10/10. I like both scents that I own, but I need to find a scent that really pops (for me).
Did you order diamond and petrichor already?

Well, I’ll take part of the blame, but I’m also excited for you! Happy2 Let us know what you think of all the new soaps once you’re acquainted with them.

I'd be interested in hearing what you think of the Sudsy Soapery Almond & Vanilla, almost picked that one up the other day.

I have recently had a reshuffling of top favorite artisans, in no particular order they are:

Tallow and Steel is an incredible performer.  (Discovered them through a gift from a member)

L&L grooming.  I placed an order with them this weekend thinking it would be my first try of them and turns out I've been using a jar which was given to me by a (different) member here.

Jabonman/Eufros (Tallow version).  I only give the veggie 4/5 stars, but the tallow .... nice

B&M continues to be a great performer

Edit: forgot to list Sapone di Paolo up here somehow.

Scent wise I have to add Stirling Soap and Chisled Face to the list, but I don't find their performance quite as good as the above four

How on earth did I forget to put Sapone di Paolo in my top tier? Simply outstanding soap and a great price. Sorry @"Sapone Di Paolo"

• PannaCrema Pure₂O (DFS scent)
• L&L Grooming (any scent that sounds good to you)

Also, if you’re not already familiar with Sapone Di Paolo’s products (and his slightly tweaked latest formula), I highly recommend them. (I’m familiar with Pulito and Terroso, and enjoy them very much.)

As someone who has a ceramic jar of the original PannaCrema I didn't expect to like the Pure₂O soap since it's 1/4 the price. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised when I lathered it up the first time. Very nice soap.
