These young'ens never knew me to be a head shaver either so that added to the credibility of my speech when I took off my hat for my conclusion. I knew I would run a little over my timeframe...but I messed up. I was supposed to do a max of 7 minutes. I spoke for 25 minutes. Everybody really enjoyed it and I had fun, but feel really dumb for going sooo far over my limit. I hope she doesn't pop me too hard on the grade.

She had better not or there will be 1,300+ DFSers who will be mightily ticked off at her and she really doesn't want to feel that! Winking
Hell hath no fury like a bunch of clean shaven, fresh smelling fellas Wink

I had thought about snagging it off of the college website and either loading it to u-tube or somehow imbedding it in this thread for a short time for grins and giggles. But alas if it truely is 25 minutes, I'd hate to bore you guys to death with info you already know. Even though I did wear my B&M Hallows skull shirt Smile

Please find a way to share it with us. I'm very interested. Thanks

Ok. So I snagged the video, I posted it to youtube, an am providing the link here. I will let it run for a day or so and is to be used for entertainment purposes only. Yes I concede it has other value but I know there are plenty of guys that do nothing but sit and split hairs ALL DAY LONG and are bound to find something wrong with my video. Somebody somewhere will take up a position as a matter of principal and defend it until their dying breath. To them, I say make what was intended to be a 8 min speech and accidentally ramble on for 25 mins to rebut my position.  I also have not watched the full 25 min video either. I took my laptop to school, downloaded it, and reuploaded it for you guys. I have a data limit on my internet bandwidth and since I had the joy of prepping and giving it, I know pretty much whats on it. If I pick my nose or check my fly, let me know because that would be pretty funny.
The teacher cut me some slack and didnt ding me so hard on my time overage considering my speech was well organized, but I did take up a quarter of the class time just to give it. And it was riveting enough that no one thought to tap the brakes on me to shut me down either. Also, as mentioned, I am comfortable in front of audiences and class rooms. I was trained so that in my speech, a transition should be so subtle, it barely feels like a cigarette butt hit by a car on the interstate. This is an entry level speech class and the instructor is there to teach the basics so she hammered me constantly for not emphasizing my transitions. During the speech, if you hear me mention one, and the class giggle, that is why. She wants it like a roller coaster, to be thrown from side to side and topic to topic.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It was a fun project and couldnt have done it without your help.

olschoolsteel, for me, what made your presentation so worthwhille was your personality.  I could quibble about some of the information you imparted but that is more than made up for by the way you came across, that is, completely approachable.  I had the feeling that if I knew nothing about wet shaving but you piqued my curiosity then I could go up to you after class and find out where to get more information about products and techniques.  We all had to start somewhere and your little speech is the type that will open doors for the uninitiated.  Just a very nice job all around, in my opinion. Happy2 (and, yes, I watched the whole presentation Smile )

Freddy, There was already one convert in the room. I refer to him as Alex. He started the class with a full beard and by the time of this speech, he had shaved with a few Personna blues I had given him. Being a lifetime user of Microsoft products, the instructor's computer is an Apple. It is the first time since the 80s when I played with an Apple IIe and was having a bit of difficulty showing the pictures and switching to the overhead projector. But my point is, the 100lb female that had the initiative to jump up and help me out, she bought a Gem G-Bar from etsy 2 days later, and a box of PTFE blades. She said she absolutely loves it. She is now actively converting her fiance, and delving into the DE realm. I let her know about DFS as a place to learn and ask questions.

It was funny, I dont know if the camera picked it up or not. But when I focused on the table of leg shavers near me and said they usually use bar soap or hair conditioner to shave, one blushed and said "wow, its like you are in the bathroom with me". It's all about relearning a skill you thought you had mastered, and overcoming marketing, and practices that a person didnt know were not optimal.

Now I can put a face to the guy who sold me my Krona. Big Grin

In fact, your Krona made a guest appearance in the speech. IIRC I said "it is a favorite among leg shavers due to its handle length". Its a movie star!
