2016 or 2017, My wife gifted me the Merkur Futur set, let's say the Futur is not a beginner friendly razor, took me months to tame it and once I did, I hardly touched a cart.

My wife's evil plan worked! save $$$ on not buying carts and I cut myself daily in the beginning, Its like her trophy!

My revenge is constanly buying and selling different Razor =D

I have the QShave clone of the Futur. Yeah, it is a bit tricky to get used to, but I cannot for the life of me say why. It certainly is noisy.
Even so, I get great results with it if I take care with it and don't dial it up too high.

I don't recall seeing the matching brush before. It looks pretty good.

I have a theory that because of how bulky it is and with its exposed blade, even at lowest setting, its blade gap is 1.12mm (according to Sharpologist).

it was tricky for me in the beginning, until i learned how to tilt and angle it to be about 15-20 degree.

Merkur did have 2 different sets in the past, one with 3 piece (razor, brush, stand) and one with the 4 piece as shown in my last post with the bowl.

I don't like having to hold the head ends to change the setting. I really slashed my thumb one time when it slipped on me while doing that. Now I lay the head on the side of the sink and just twist the handle with one hand.

It's also not always easy to safely remove a blade for cleaning, because of the end caps. I've been using a piece from a building toy that has magnets on both ends of a plastic rod, like one of these:

Ouch, John, that slicing of the thumb makes me cringe and wince! Fingers are so innervated that even a paper cut makes me jump like I touched a hot burner. And a razor blade cut has me acting like I just endured major trauma!

Not at all. I just found the one stick and thought to put it to good use.
It's also handy for picking up a dropped blade from a flat surface.
