I played oboe. I started as a music major but immediately realized that I was a small fish in a very large pond, so although I kept playing, I changed my major to political science/history. I didn't go back to medical school until 12 years after graduating with my B.A., when I got tired of being an aimless drifter.

There is something to be said for a liberal arts education, perhaps most loudly proclaimed by those fearing people trained in critical thinking so much they refuse to enjoin them in the professions.... but in the end it worked out, eh?

Ran over by my parents before getting the day started to say hello to them and salute my Pops (he’s VERY formal on Military Days). As I was pulling up the driveway I lowered my music because I thought I heard some pretty loud music. Lol, Mom greeted me at the door, I looked like a deer in head lights because the music was coming from our house (Parents house, where I grew up). She said he’s upstairs and he’s got his M65 Field Jacket on from Nam and listening to music.  I asked what he was doing, she laughed and said go up there.  Go up there means he’s in his cool Viet Nam era ManCave study and anything goes! I got up there, greeted and saluted him, he told me to back up 2 paces from his desk and stand at ease, lol.  He was cleaning his automag and at 11am having a scotch.  Told me to pour myself one lol, I passed.

So yeah, that happened.  And they wonder why I’m so OCD...

He did have some great music on! I got a small play list going when I got back home and prepped for My Memorial Day shave!

Eric Clapton: Oceanside. One of my favorite "cut out" albums. That is, if anybody remembers what an album is.

Really liked Sting's early music paired with Summer; seemed as though Summer brought out the rebel social activist raging against materialism and neoliberalism whereas now he completely bought in to the globalist inequality as a virtue, likely the influence of his consumerism/status obsessed wife Trudie Styler....
