The hair on these brushes look like quality knots

Planning to use my MS for my shave today. I really wish I had experience with Simpson Manchurian hair for a comparison.

I can tell just by the initial soak & palm lather that this has incredible backbone, minimal splay, and the hair seems to be good quality. Since I haven't used it for a shave yet, I can only offer a subjective opinion of this: seems to have a touch of scrub/scritch I don't get from Simpson best hair. However, we're talking minor here. It still seems pretty soft overall.

I can update after I have used it. Overall, can't believe this is a $50ish brush.

I have two LS/MS Brushes bulb/fan with a third on the way and really enjoying them. Better hair than any of my Simpsons. I unloaded my three Manchurians. They are too scrubby to the point they can irritate the face.

I can't believe Mark Watterson gets away charging what he does for a play on words. It was Chas. Roberts who convinced David Carter to lamp black 'High Mountain White' on Simpsons handles thus increasing their price to absurd amounts.

New wet shavers are in a great position right now (with a little research) to save money.

$50 for an MS brush, $60 for the Parker Variant cost nothing compared to a Simpson Manchurian or Wolfman and both shave better. Great stuff.

Now that is an interesting comparison (the Parker). I'll admit, I have not even looked at one because of some poor QC on other Parker razors I have had pass through my den. But if it is in the same league as a Wolfman, I might have to check it out.

Got to use the MS 30mm today. Some thoughts: it does indeed have impressive backbone and minimal splay from the knot. It picks up soap very easily as you would expect. Yet, the knot doesn't feel huge at all. I was a little nervous that a 30mm brush would be unwieldy. It also releases the lather very easily. Not a lather hog (consumption would be a different measurement).

Now for the downside (for me at least): I have pretty sensitive skin. I didn't find the scrub & scritch to be my liking. I think this would be fine for someone used to boar brushes or looking to get a nice massage from the brush.

So if anyone is interested in this type of brush and does not want to wait 2-3 weeks, send me a PM and we can work something out

Having stated this, of course, there can be variation with individual knots. However, I think your Chubby 2 Best knot might be a tad softer than your MS Finest 2-Band.

Give it a few hand lathers and I'm sure you will find it softens up. The Finest do start off quite firm but it relents a bit.
