Was thinking about all of the different shaving companies out there - both big brands and artisans - and it got me thinking, who is the most popular in terms of volume sold?

Any ideas out there who are the top selling artisan soap makers? And how much they sell each month? Super curious and thought I'd open this up.

Barrister & Mann is pretty popular.

I saw a poll in facebook once. B&M and PAA came 1/2 or 2/1

Does anyone have any idea of numbers though? Really curious.

I'm sure things have changed, but several years back I remember when RazoRock was all the rage and XXX made a comeback and p.160 returned and how they would sell out within a day. Always wondered how many were sold and if that still happens today.

B&M definitely, PAA as well.

Thinking about my den right now and it's definitely dominated by B&M, PAA, CRSW, Mike's, Stirling and Saponificio Varesino.

the only people who could possibly answer those questions are the creators and stores that sell them.

for artisan soap, I'd have to say that B&M has to be near the top...

As far as I know B&M treats that information as confidential. I've not heard PAA ever share numbers either.

Nobody would know the answer to that question. Below are the artisans I suspect are among the top sellers, but in no particular order.

Stirling
Barrister and Mann
PAA/Crown King
Soap Commander
Razo Rock / Italian Barber

While I am sure Razorock sells a lot, they do not physically make their own product vs the other 4 you mentioned who make and sell their own product.

Now the funny thing is that each of the brands you mentioned are known to have a couple of people behind each company. I know a couple of them have a staff beyond the makers themselves. But in order to be respectful and keep what I was told private, I would prefer to refrain from saying who I know has employees to help them with the increased scale of the business.

B&M is likely to be leading the sales. What about Catie's?. They were pretty popular in the past seem to have faded somehow.
