Ugh, wish I had known this sooner. Just went to Merz's in Chicago and they had a few refill pucks for sale. I bet they were the older formulation. If I had known about the change I would have purchased them to go along with the puck I'm halfway done with.

Just a reminder, it's $13.75 here, with free shipping after a minimum $50 order. They still have tallow MWF in stock. They also sell the refill w/ ceramic bowl.
I was lucky enough to score a MWF tallow refill and another Kent shave bowl in tallow formula . owner seemed like a nice guy and was quite helpful in ensuring that I get the right product(tallow).

I had been looking for a couple of extra pucks of the old, tallow formula Fat, but none of my searches proved fruitful. So I finally broke down and got a puck of the new, non-tallow soap to try (Kent label). Used it this morning and I was pleasantly surprised! Guys, this stuff is still great! I could detect no drop in quality of either lather slickness or cushion. If anything, it seemed a little easier to build the lather compared to the original version. Shavepocalypse averted? Possibly. The mere presence of tallow doesn't guarantee a great soap (Czech & Speake's shave soap proved that). At the same time, the absence of tallow doesn't mean that a soap is bad / not as good (Martin de Candre & Saponificio Varesino have proven that).

Additionally, one thing that I do with all my triple milled soaps is score the top of the puck in a crosshatch / diamond pattern. This creates channels for the water to get into the soap rather than simply sitting atop it. Makes loading easier.
