mild razors

since i wrote this i have improved dranatically. i used to use cartridge and a can of barbasol,ha. i learned a lot from watching tse and busta mostly, and nick shaves. i slowed down. i have not cut myself at allin the past 2-3 weeks. i purchased a gillette superspeed and a gillrette adjustable on etsy. they are almost like new and only cost 30 bucks for both of them. i have best success with derby ,astra, and personna blue and red blades. i have used info from all these posts. thanks very much.

That's great and you've picked a couple of great Gillette classics. No better way to start the day.

All the suggestions previously mentioned are excellent mild razors especially the Gillette tech which if you want a more expensive updated model is the feather stainless steel. Another mild one which I don't think was mentioned is the Standard Razor. Made out of aluminum, excellent shave and pretty hard to cut yourself with it. It's one of those razors like the feather and Gillette tech that require a really sharp blade (polsilver or feather) otherwise it's glancing of your face and taking very little with it. You can genrally get the the razor for 1/2 the price if you wait for a massdrop or bespoke.com has a shave/barber box for $45. It is a sub, but just don't buy anything when you get the e-mail, and cancel later. If your independently wealthy and you need it now, you can get one from just about anywhere for $79.

You have been given plenty of excellent advice on technique so I won't go there - right now I'm absolutely loving my ikon shave craft #102 slant, its very comfortable yet very efficient. It works well with a wide range of blades (used a feather blade in it this morning) and I have to be really stupid to cut myself with it, seriously you have to start flourishing it around with wild abandon like Errol Flynn with a cutlass to cut yourself with it. I rarely do that.

How about a nice Blue Tip? They meet your criteria of "mild" and are within that price range. Of late I've noticed a nice selection on the bay and Esty too.
I've used one once and way to mild for me, but smooth.
