Day 2 with 2 days growth.

The setup (almost always Ethos here).

I did a preface wash with PAA the Cube 2.0.

Lathered up Ethos Success S base with that beautiful Brad Sears Scotsman XL.  Phenomenal lather and off to the test… Right side will be the CF Ti and the Left side will be the Athena.  All loaded with Personna Israeli Reds.

And the final results were as follows:

There is no doubt, the Athena wins on efficiency.  My jawline gets a better shave with the Athena each time.  I don’t need to go over a spot to buff it, the Athena handles it.

However for smoothness the CF wins hands down.  It’s a little less “tuggy” and it is a razor you can also buff without any irritation.

Audible - both razors are audible but I would say, the CF is the loudest razor I currently own.  I love that, you can hear the whiskers getting whacked off.

In the end, if you want a smooth efficient shave that is BBS, you can choose either.  If you like a razor that “scrapes” you would choose the CF.  If you like a heavier razor that plows, the Athena would be the winner.

The Athena is probably a slightly better design by the clamping of the blade.

I noticed very little difference in BBS length of time.  Maybe an hour but it could just be the way I shave.

Price - it depends if you go for the CF legacy (350 dollars) or the raw (200 dollars) but the Athena comes one way for about 235 USD as of today.  So they are about the same.

I am glad to have both in my mild but efficient rotation.  They shave so differently I can’t say it enough.

12 hours later, I can make a clear determination that the Athena is more efficient by a wider margin than I may have communicated.

It is the winner for me.

One of the most mild, yet still reasonably efficient razors I've owned and used is the RazoRock "Game Changer 68-P". Full disclosure, I replaced it with the RR "GC 84-P", which may, or, may not get replaced with the RazoRock "Lupo. 95 SB". Jury is still out on that one. Ive been switching back and forth between the two since the first of the year. Worst-case case I'll keep them both. Come to find out, I like more aggressive razors. But, they must be 'efficient'.

Totally agree with you, Razorock makes great mild razors, I started headshaving with the Mamba 63 and then move on to the GC 68 with different plates, even tried their dual comb.
Best thing is it doesn't break the bank and no issues dealing with their CS when i do have an issue.

Agreed... when I received and used Athena I too was surprised by its softness and effectiveness

I was left speechless Smile

The Chiseled Face Ti is still a marvelous, mild shaver.  I love it. You can whip it around your face like really have a great time shaving with it. But the Athena is my easiest BBS razor, it’s fool proof.

Yes, being in Europe I preferred the Athena...I have no doubt that the Chiseled Face Ti is just as good
