nothing wrong with really enjoying a product, imho.  Mike is a really nice guy and he seems to make a very nice product that a lot of people love (if they can find it!)...

It would be nice if Mike had the option on his site to email you when something you want is back in stock.  I do give him credit, though, for starting to offer some pre-orders on some of his more popular scents.  I believe he just started doing that.  Another option is to watch Mike's Natural Soaps on his Twitter or Facebook page.  He does post quite often to these places to announce when things are back in stock.  Yet another option is to just let folks on the forum know what you are looking for.  I have been known to PM folks who are looking for something that they are having a hard time getting.  Face it, we all love to enable each other!

andrewjs18, thank you for the thoughts on my fanboy-ism.  As you might suspect, I may have gotten my knuckles rapped elsewhere in the past for being too exuberant in my praise for products that I truly enjoy.  Sometimes I forget how open and.... down to earth, let's say, that DFS is as a shaving forum.  It's not a slam on anyone elsewhere, it's just there are different expectations in different places.  DFS seems very fresh and enjoyable!  Keep up the good work, ladies and gentlemen!

hmn, maybe I'll have to see if he'll let me do pre-orders for a few of his bath soaps. do we just ask him via his contact form on his website?

regarding the 'fanboyism' stuff...getting beat up for it on other forums is because they believe you're a shill...trust me on this, the level of paranoia is staggering. a lot of these shaving forums are owned by vendors and/or people who have a valued interested in suppressing the 'overwhelming' discussion of X or Y products for various reasons.

DFS isn't owned by a vendor/artisan or someone that has any valued interest in limiting discussion. my goal is to provide a platform for people to discuss topics within the shaving realm, whether the product is popular or not. you won't see us labeling people as shills for liking a product...

Smile

I don't know if he'll take requests, but he has Lemongrass & Eucalyptus Kokum Butter Bath Soap and Barber Shop Shea Butter Bath Soap available for pre-order right now.  Big Grin

Just me again, but I've shaved with the Fall scent Sweet Pumpkin Spice a few times now with great results.  The one time, I WAY overloaded my brush.  I was basically trying to see if I could make it so much soap that I might sense any irritation.  I have some soaps that I need to be careful how much I load or else I experience some irritation.  The Sweet Pumpkin Spice didn't irritate my skin in the slightest.  I just ended up with a whole lot of slick creamy lather.  This is my experience with all eleven scents of Mike's that I own.

I really thought there would be some more comments on this soap.  Undecided

He doesn't have much forum interaction, seems to never have stock of many soaps (based on what I've read) and shipping to Canada would make them a bust for me.

$12-19US + $9shipping for a soft soap is way too much for me. For a $13-14 tin, I'm looking at $30 Canadian after shipping. If they were available with cheaper, free shipping or from a Canadian distributor, I may reconsider them.

USPS is killing cross border business for small companies.

on bath soaps he won't. I sent him an email a few days ago.

as @Bruce mentioned below, he doesn't chat much on any forums, nor does he keep an adequate stock of soaps in his store, imho.

what's even worse is that he lives in Michigan, just across the border.

He has a facebook page and he updates when things are back in stock or available. It can be frustrating though, that I do understand. This is a side gig for him.
