To this day, they are both my two all time favorite soap makers. I believe Mike's was the first to use extra wide tins, correct? I have always loved the simple & straightforward, but very pleasant scents. And they perform for me as good as any that I have experienced.

You and I have the same preferences in all things shaving Rob!  Here's to Mike's, Mystic and Rooney Finests! Happy2
If memory serves me correctly, yes, I do believe Mike was the first to use the wider tins. What a difference the wider tins make!

Mike's soaps are terrific. I own six and the Hungarian Lavender, Vetiver and Barbershop are some of my not only favorite scents, but my favorite soaps.

Mike's Barber Shop is a favorite of mine as well.

One of my favorite things about this soap base is it's ability to hold water. You can incorporate SO MUCH water here it is amazing! When fully hydrated the lather is so slick and shiny, with zero air bubbles, which for me means excellent slickness and optimal protection. A true pleasure to shave with.

Happy2 No problem my friend! Once upon a time I ran out of Mike's Barbershop and had to endure a month or so without it so I know the pain it can be to wait for re-stocking.

You're absolutely correct Celestino. This soap has been around since near the beginning of the artisan shave soap movement, and so much has followed, but very few have produced an equal in my opinion. It definitely deserves to be remembered more frequently than it does.

Amen to everything said and I hope Mike happens upon this thread giving him more inspiration to keep rolling out great soaps!
My first artisan back in 2012 when I happened upon it on shavemyface and still my favorite...Mystic right behind it!
Both his tins and refill pucks are outstanding! Nathan's video really shows just what this soap can do...shine!

I can't possibly be the only fan of Mike's around here, any one else a fan?

Mike's after shave feel is second only to MW. The Bay Rum is one of the better ones (IMO) and the Orange Cedarwood comes across as kind of an Orange Bay Rum to me. Good stuff.

But you know there is lots of stuff that doesn't get much play here. Route 66 is deserving of some play too.

Okay I give up. So far I have stayed away from Mystic Water and Mike's Natural. God only knows why.

Celestino has inspired me to soon purchase 16 x Mystic Water - YES! Celestino told me that the minimum I could buy would be 16 MW soaps, or I would burn in hell

Now Nathan is inspiring me and forcing me to buy some Mike's Natural.
I normally buy my soaps in bulk. How many scents does he make ?
I'm thinking perhaps buying 12 or 16 Mikes too.
