I believe the site has always said that you get about five ounces of soap, whether in the jar or as a bar. (Admittedly, it would be nice to have that information somewhere on the label, too.)

Seen one picture of a jar, so far. White plastic, the lip with the threading is wider than the rest of the jar. Looks fairly pedestrian, especially since the labels seem to remain the same. Then again, I suppose Mike’s was never about flashy packaging, which is fine.

Mike doesn't list the weight on the tub because that varies between tubs.  He's not exactly a high tech operation and likely not into precision pours. The website is clear about the weights being approximate.

I enjoy his soaps. I get the bars and press them into one of my shaving bowls. They last
a while too.

This is the one thing that has bugged me about Mike’s. I realize that he’s a one guy low tech operation, but buying a $10 scale and making sure to fill the jar to a minimum weight does not seem like too much to ask of a person selling a product.

I don't think the weight of the soap would be enough to be a problem. Have several tins of Mike's in the den and none of them are what I would call "under filled". Plus it seems like all shaving soaps are bottomless unless you 3017 it.

Like others have said, Mikes will last a very long time. I'm pretty sure it's 5oz or possibly more. I have been using an OCBP for a year and a half and I'm still not even halfway finished. I don't use it every time but it's got a very large number of uses.

I am in the process of cleaning out the den. I have WAY to many soaps. I had not used my Mike's for some time and was considering listing it on B/S/T. Before I did, I thought I would give it one last go. Boy am I glad I did! I forgot how good this stuff is. Really a top notch soap. Easy to lather. Great primary and secondary slickness. Post shave is excellent as well...and that is what AS and balm are for anyway. I am so glad to have rediscovered Mike's. In fact, instead of selling them, I added to them having bought a couple of scents!

Anyone ever used the Lavandin and Eucalyptus scent? Is it heavy on the eucalyptus or can you smell more of the lavender/lavandin in it? I really want to have some Mike's in my den again, but unfortunately most of his scents that I've tried have been misses for me. Still trying to find the right one!

Hi Jeff-

This is one of my favorites. I find it light on the Eucalyptus. It is mostly Lavadin. It is a little more earthy and medicinal than the Hungarian Lavender. I like this more than any other lavender scented soaps I have tried (and I have tried quite a few). Hope this helps.

Awesome! That's what I was hoping to hear. Thanks Mark!
