Mike's Natural Soap

I was going to ask about Rose and Cedarwood Merkur Man. Is it mostly rose or can you definitely pick out the cedar? I already have Soap Commander Love if I want a rose scent so I was wondering if it was that much different.

You can definitely detect the cedar but mostly what you get, at least from my tin, is the rose.  I have never been able to bring myself to lather this one. Let me know if you want it, I'd be happy to send you my tin as I do not care for it.

Mike's Rose & Cedarwood is definitely rose forward, but as Nathan noted, the cedar is also there. I am a big fan of rose scented soaps and creams. Mike's was the first I tried and it is still a favorite. I also have Soap Commander Love and enjoy that one too, but find the scents between the two different. Both are rose, but the cedar certainly gives Mike's a certain twist(in a good way.)

I have tried the Soap Commander Love bath soap, and really enjoy the pure rose scent. I’ve also been wondering for a while what Mike’s Rose & Cedarwood scent is like. Thanks for the descriptions, I’ll definitely keep it on my acquisition list, and will add a few of the other scents that have been brought up in this thread. Because I need more soap…

I like rose in my shaving soap. I have a Trumper in rose, Cyril R. Salter Wild Rose, Soap Commander Love, Tallow + Steel / Chatillon Lux Yuzu Rose Patchouli (aftershave too), Wholly Kaw Chypre Rose Concerto, I might have missed one. I like rose.

If any of you are a fan of Mike's Natural Soaps and a fan of rose scented soaps, then you need to have Mike's Natural Soaps Rose & Cedarwood shaving soap!

I know, I sound like quite the fanboy, but Mike's was the first artisan shaving soap that I purchased early on in this traditional wet shaving adventure. It was definitely the very first, "Oh, WOW!" moment in shaving for me. The lather was a mess of yogurt-y, rich, gooey, slick goodness that I almost couldn't believe! That experience is probably what triggered SAD for me. I have lots of different soaps and creams. Great ones, even. But, Mike's still performs for me and gives me a sense of familiarity in each shave. Enjoy your shaves!

Nothing beats a Saturday delivery! One of the less talked about scents but a favorite. I'm down to only a few soap makers now and our friend in Ann Arbor sits on top.

vtmax I completely agree. Peppermint and Rosemary is a favorite of mine. Nice herb scent. A little cooling from the peppermint. Same great lather.

I also like rose scented soaps. All this talk about the Rose & Cedarwood is triggering my SAD.

After about a one month hiatus of using everything but Mike's Natural, including: Nuavia, SMN v1,v,2,v3, B&M Glissant, Mystic Waters, L&L, AoS tallow, AoS cream, AdP original and new formulation, XPEC, LPL, SdM, CRSW Select and CRSW Premium and many others I can't remember off the top of my head,  I used Mike's again this morning and I have to admit there is nothing that tops Mike's among my collection.  I know there are more moisturizing post-shave soaps out there, and soaps with better scents, but Mike's delivers perfect lather, and for my preferences, a perfect post shave.  Mike's is Magnificent!

Number 1 in my den too Nathan!
