O. K. I get it... Old Marines weren't made to smell "nice"!!!! But... I do enjoy smelling good for Mama and myself. So, I've got some nice fragrances in my shave soaps and balms and aftershaves. I would like a manly but nice smelling EDT or EDP without breaking the bank. Can yall suggest something that I could explore?? I can't explain the fragrances in a way that I read sometimes. So help a pimp out here!!!!!! Semper-fi Mike

My favorite male fragrance is Terre d'Hermes. I have no idea the cost, as the only time I've used it was from samples generously sent to me, but MAN is it a fantastic scent!

I'm also a BIG fan of Spice Bomb by Viktor Rolf, but again...no idea what it costs, as the only small bottle in my possession was generously given to me.

As a side note...Stirling and Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements both make aftershave splashes that have long-lasting scents for very reasonable prices...probably much less expensive than a true EdT or EdP would cost. Checkout Stirling's Arcadia for a Terre d'Hermes homage...

I am not trying to break your bank, but if you every fancy something what many would describe 'truly manly' get this:

I have been intrigued by the smell of Creed's Green Irish Tweed, but the cost just floors me (I'd rather spend my $ on hardware!). After an exhaustive search of alternatives, I finally narrowed it down and picked up a bottle of Armaf Tres Nuit Pour Homme. Armaf has a "knock-off" reputation, but I found that the Tres Nuit Pour Homme has just enough essence of GIT to see it as a source of inspiration without being a complete rip-off. Added bonuses are the cost (about $25 with shipping on Amazon), strength (easily lasts me 10 hours+) and the wife LOVES the scent.

If you're a fan of GIT or Cool Water, it's worth a try.

I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but, when it comes to value on the dollar, you can't beat Patrick by Fragrances of Ireland. A big bottle of 100ml can be had for $40, and I find it to be a good quality fragrance. Just for reference, it's considered a fougere and it smells a little like Irish Spring soap.

I agree with the recommendation above for Terre d'Hermes, but I think it's probably a little more expensive.

Agree with Chris, I love Terre. Fantastic scent that one. If you want a more summer-ish scent in the same family of Terre (at least to my nose) Versace Man Eau Fraiche. Both has that manly citrus zest in the background.

On that note, I also really like AdP scent, it's summer, its masculine and sophisticated.

As for other masculine scents La Nuit is very good, along with Green Irish Tweed and the legendary Aventus. DG The One, Bleu de Chanel, Gucci Pour Homme II and Terre D'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche are also safe buys.

Night times or cold weather, 1 million and Invictus are also great.

Creeds are bit in the pricey side but there are alternatives to these scents. I heard good things about Armaf but unfortunately it's hard for me to get it here.

Hope this helps mate

Good recommendations Aurelian28 ,on a side note pal if you like Aventus but don't like the price don't give up on trying to pick up the Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Man.As much as I love Td'H,I get far more complements from the ladies when I wear the Armaf CDN.Amazon has really good deals on it often.

Nice, I just checked it out now and it's just $19 on Amazon. For something that is very close to Aventus and last for hours that is indeed incredible value. You're making me want to get an early birthday present for myself.. haha

You know bud, one thing that really surprised me about Aventus is it's legendary longevity. My laundry hamper smells like Aventus even a day after!

Yes sir,Aventus longevity is no joke!!!!I will say the Armaf doesn't have the longevity of the real stuff, but for the money it lasts a good 10 hrs on me.
It lacks the pineapple opening but is very close to the Aventus dry down, close enough that I can ration my Aventus decant and still scratch that Aventus itch.
I say go for the Armaf bud,you will enjoy it!!!
