You can make a tasty appetizer out of dates stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon. Delicious!

I buy them on eBay. These came from a different seller because they were slightly cheaper, but they are more dried up and less flavorful, so next time I'll go back to my usual seller there, sergfernn (Fernandez Dates). He always sends really good dates.

Thanks.

I'd like to increase my consumption of dates. I saw a show re: them yesterday it sounds as though they have lots going for them.

John, let us know what you think soon. I have had trouble getting consistency in the drying stage of all the different dates I have bought at a variety of grocery stores. Recently I was able to purchase some locally at a grocery store and got a nice bag of them.

I repack them in approximately one-pound amounts (26-28 dates) in zip-lock sandwich bags and store them in the freezer. Then I keep bag of them available unfrozen in the refrigerator door for regular consumption. When I put the last frozen bag in the door to thaw, I know it's time to order more.

The current ones are a bit too dry. Previously I have always bought them from the seller sergfernn, at $3.64/lb., and they've always been wonderful, plump and moist and sweet. Here's a link to his listing:
