I made sticky buns this morning. This is a quick "cheat" recipe as I use frozen bread dough which I thaw overnight.

Mix together heavy cream and powdered sugar. This will become the sticky caramel. Divide between two 9" cake pans. Add chopped walnuts to one.

Roll out the bread dough into an 8X12" rectangle. The spring thing on the left of the cutting board is a flour wand. You squeeze the handle which stretches the spring head. Insert into flour to fill the spring head. Then shake over your rolling surface while gently squeezing the handle to get a smooth even layer of flour.

Sprinkle with a brown sugar/cinnamon mix and top with raisins.

Roll up jelly roll style and pinch to seal the edges. Cut into 1" rounds.

Transfer the rounds to the cake pans. Repeat with second loaf. Let rise

Bake until golden brown.

Invert to a plate and serve.

A good start to a cold Valentine's Day.

Looks good!

ROTFLMAO! But not at this post. Yesterday I got an email stating that "Everyone loves a machete for Valentines Day!". So I showed it to the wife and asked if she wanted one. Of course she didn't. Well, we were watching the tube yesterday and a comment was made that the best gifts were one that the person would never buy for themselves. Re-enter the machete idea.... When wishing the wife a great Valentines Day this morning I also mentioned that her machete might take a week to get here, and that it would be a great gift because it's not something that she would order for herself. Sometime today flowers will be delivered. :-) There will be no machete.

Brian, thats just crazy. Everybody knows that what a woman really wants is a broad axe Smile A nice Swedish one, far more practical than a machete.

:-) Yup! I like the broad axe idea for next year. (BTW, I was chuckling all day. Thankfully the flowers weren't delivered until late in the day.)

The flowers went over much better than the machete would have. So much for truth in emails! I never thought that I'd be lied to in one. Heck, it's the internet and if we can't trust unsolicited emails just what can we trust?

Reminds me of the time, shortly after we were married... I asked what she wanted for Christmas. Her reply was <"Oh get me something that you would want.". So I got her a rifle. Seriously. From now on when I ask that question she gives me a list. Point goes to Brian.
