I have done this process 2x in the past and with great success. I would like to share it with this community.
You'll need:
1) One puck unscented shave soap (not cream). I use Mitchell's Wool Fat or in this case, Kent, the tallow formulation. I imagine any hard soap will work.
2) One package your favorite pipe tobacco. I use Captain Black original.
3) Cryovac Machine.
Process:
Cut the puck in half lengthwise.
Create a "layer cake" with the tobacco, making sure to cover all exposed soap.
Note: The tobacco I received was fairly dry, so I spritzed it lightly with some H2O.
Lastly, place contents in a vacuum seal bag and seal.
I let this cure for at least 3 months. Longer may be better, but I have always been satisfied with the scent-profile after 3 months.
I will follow up with the opening process after 4/4/2025.
Thanks for reading.
