I saw those vids as well and am inclined to believe there is no advantage in buying the Tuxedo as in all likelihood it is the very same material as the Maggard black synthetic and the RazoRock 400, only difference being colored tips. I have the latter two and they are IMO the very same fiber. They are the best synthetics available IMO and yes that means above the Mühle 4th Gen. brushes of which I have a black fiber & a Silvertip as well.

I disagree. I have the Tuxedo and the Maggard black and they are very different, both excellent brushes though. The Maggard's fibers are coarser, but still very soft at the tips. Tuxedo is softer. I have no doubt that the Maggard and RazoRock are the same though.

Thank you for the heads up & I stand corrected. Having never used the Tuxedo I was making a marketing guess. I will now have to buy one. As no one makes an economical brush I will try to get a knot and set it when I can. Color me curious.

Thanks Jeff for your info. I had been waiting to hear your thoughts when you said you were going to the meet-up as well as what Andrew has coming. Just assuming a possible fan knot option and/or more knot sizes.

You're welcome! If you are a fan of synthetic brushes (which I assume you are), you will not be disappointed. I am making an assumption that the Maggard black/white knot is the same as the Tuxedo which I have not confirmed yet since I haven't made the brush to use as of now, but they can be had much cheaper than the original and without the shipping wait from Canada.

Maggard doesn't have the fan shaped ones, but they do have 22, 24, 26, 28 and 30mm sizes. There was another thread where Matsilainen linked to a site where they do sell fan shaped Tuxedo style knots. I believe it was Frugal Shave on Etsy??

Hey Andrew, I hope you don't feel pushed into revealing your new knots before you are ready as that was not my intent.
Go Blue!
wyze0ne Yeah it was just a guess on my part. I had seen positive response into the fan shape that Envy Shave has and thought maybe these might be in response to that or just more sized knots like a 26mm. My fault to adding speculation to something that would be revealed when Andrew was ready.

However, I I think it’s important to note that the quality of those knots is unknown, at least to me. (Ruds brought up something similar in his video, although I’m not sure if he mentioned any specific vendors that were selling subpar look-alike knots.)
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
