Looking for the perfect synthetic!

Thank you! Just read through it... That one guy really sounds like he knows his stuff. I've heard a lot of those echoed also... The Muhle, shavemac, etc.

Hard to beat the Chubby 2 synthetic, but Alpha makes a great synthetic brush with nice aluminum handles.

Having had and sold more brushes (badger, boar, horse, blends, etc) than I can remember, I cannot say enough about Fine Accoutrements classic shaving brush. This is a fabulous synthetic brush and quite reasonably priced at $27. It uses their "Angel Hair" which is much softer than other synthetic brushes. https://fineaccoutrements.com/fine-class...ing-brush/. For me, the texture, loft and feel are without compare. 20mm knot and 56mm loft. I bought 2 -- one for the house and one for the cabin.

Oumo has a new synthetic knot out.  They call it the 4th SYN knot.  I have ordered on in 26mm to see what it is like.  I will report back on what it is like.  In the meantime, has anyone tried this one yet?

Haven’t tried that one, but I’m curious. It looks very similar to one of their other knots (and quite a few synthetics in general), but apparently some improvements have been made. Let us know what you think, once it finally arrives. (My last Oumo order took 8 weeks to arrive.)

I have ditched every other knot since I first used a 28mm Timberwolf.

I have a 30mm Cashmere knot coming from APShaves to replace a tuxedo that slings soap all over the mirror.  Apparently my wife is not amused?. I thought it was me but that knots seems to be the only one causing me issues. It splays but not as easy as the others.

My favorite now is a relatively new one from APShaveCo, it's their 2 Bed Fan shaped synthetic. Not as much backbone as the silksmoke and not as little as cashmere.. plus fan shapes are generally better performers than the bulbs, which typically have all their backbone in the middle

The thicker fibers, even if of the latest generation as Yaqi / Oumo Tuxedo, are beneficial in a warm bath before use.
For me, even the finer ones.
Better if with very hot water.
However, they are not spoiled.

I just ordered their newest knot, the 26mm SilkSmoke Fan/Flat Top, in a brush made by him. I had a fan "quarter moon" Tuxedo two years ago and I really like the fan format.
