Looking for a nice boar knot

Anyone have any recommendations for a nice, high-lofted boar knot? 24mm base for a Rubberset handle. I have found a couple online, but I figured before I actually get one, I would see if anyone had any recommendations.

Any input from you brush makers out there would be greatly appreciated!

I took a couple of Omega brushes and mined them for their knots. Not too hard and the knots were very nice. Just a thought? Not sure if there are any good boar knots out there with high loft, but maybe? Let us know when you decide and how it turns out?

Maybe Ace of shaving you have them on ebay.

I know semogue boars are pretty highly regarded, IIRC. I'm not sure if they sell just the knots though.

Never used boar but Whipped Dog has never let me down on other knots.

I have an Ever-Ready(150?) that belonged to my father-in-law.  One of these days, I would really like to re-knot it with a boar knot similar to what was original.  This is where I was thinking of grabbing a knot:  Boar Knots at TGN

I haven't pulled the trigger on a knot yet, Chris, but I will probably start with one of these. The blonde knots on the bottom row of the linked page are referred to as "high grade boar knot." I'm not sure what makes them "high grade." They suggest ordering one size down from the hole in the handle, I believe. So, for 24mm, you would probably order the 22mm knot. The brush I want to re-knot has a 22mm hole in the handle, so I'm probably going to go for the 20mm knot. I may just install with a small dot of silicone caulk to hold a knot in to try it first, before permanently installing with epoxy.

Again, this is just another suggestion as I haven't actually ordered, yet. I thought it might be a good option since The Golden Nib is in the U.S. and seem to have a good reputation in the shaving community. I've heard that they are pretty good about answering questions.

I have read that the Omega Professional brush is fantastic. The knot is transplanted out. I ordered one to see. Supposedly the handle is nothing special.

I have a Semogue and I don't like it. I'm going to kick the tires on the Omega and see how it goes.

I ordered it from Amazon for less than $12 delivered.

The omega knots usually stay pretty vertical where the semogue splays a lot more. What semogue do you have, Todd? I'm always looking out for good used semogues to use the knots for restores.
