Let me just start by saying I would not recommend this kit to anyone. Its pretty bad, even for the low price of $9.99. The "soap" is actually the most serviceable item here. While the scent is nothing to write home about (generic soapy smell), the performance is decent and it has a nice menthol kick as well. I imagine it would be light years better with a real brush. I put the word soap in quotes above because it's not a soap as it states on the jar. It is most definitely a cream with kind of a lumpy consistency. It's not smooth and silky like say a TOBS or Body Shop Maca Root cream.
The brush is worthless. I can say with confidence that I will never use it again. And for the love of God, anyone that might actually use this, do not face lather with it! It felt like a million needles jabbing into my skin! I never bowl lather so I didn't think to try it. The only way to use this brush is with painting strokes.
On to the "balm". No, just no. It has the same scent as the cream, is nearly impossible to get out of the bottle (as you can see in Busta's video) and has a greasy feel to it as someone mentioned earlier in this thread. It didn't provide any noticeable relief for my skin either. 15-20 minutes later my face was dry and a little irritated so I ended up slapping on some Nivea balm and that helped.
So all in all, I wouldn't PIF this stuff to anyone unless they really wanted it. I might use the cream again though. It was "OK" and I liked the menthol. Not worth a ten spot on its own though, that's for sure. Sorry Trader Joe's, try again.
