I took a chance and bought 100 Lord Silver Star blades from Amazon Prime because the price of $8 was too much to resist. I've always been kind of not impressed with most Lord blades I've used ( Lord Platinum, Shark SS, and Shark SC ). Not that they were bad, but that they were just usually average.

The Silver Star appears to be a cut above those. I've had 4 very good, close, and uneventful shaves with the first blade I've used. It's been a good cutter in my Slim Adjustable at a variety of settings, and now I'm just seeing if I can get the 5-7 smooth shaves I like to see in my other high-use blades.

My impression so far is that this is a sharper than average blade, but still retains smoothness as well. It is well behaved in so far as I haven't nicked myself, had any weepers, or had any inordinate skin aggravation from it. It reminds me a lot of a Gillette Yellow Sharpedge, but with a tad more comfort. I like the Sharpedge a lot, but I am always aware later in the day I've shaved with a sharp blade, and I am not getting this small amount of discomfort from the Silver Star.

Took shave #6 on this blade with my SLOC razor. It's even better in the SLOC. Still taking care of the whiskers, and extremely smooth. Went ATG with it as well, and that's a pass I usually skip except for special occasions.

Early on in my journey I hated Lord blades. I recently loaded a Shark Platinum and got 10 nice shaves out of it before it finally quit on number 11. Now I'm curious to revisit some of the other blades in the lineup.

Silver Stars are good blades. I tried them a couple months ago and was duly impressed.

I have been doing a lot of blade testing lately, but this reminds me that I need to load another one of these for a future shave.
