[Before I get jumped on...] This was not a condemnation of Mike's soap, or his business practices.  This was not sour graping about not having been able to get a hold of them. This was just a plain statement of fact, and I guess I am not that enthusiastic, so before someone has kittens..... It isn't that big of a deal to me. Just sayin'...

that was one of the biggest complaints I always had about Mike's as well.  it seems that maybe he might start making them more often as Maggard's is now stocking some of his soaps: http://www.maggardrazors.com/product-tag...ral-soaps/

I always assumed he was just a poor working schmuck like the rest of us, and churned them out as fast as he could.

He is for sure on my list.

that could be true for him as well. last I knew, he was in college to obtain his PhD.

You may have to add the adjective, intelligent, to your description as he has gotten his PhD, if I am not mistaken. Big Grin

So I should say, "poor, 'intelligent' working schmuck"? Well, apparently some congrats are in order. . Either way, it is hard for me to imagine making a living $13.95 plus shipping at a time... My utmost respect goes out to all of the artisans who make our hobby possible.

doing the shaving soap stuff might of been the most flexible way for him to earn some money while being in college. of course this could be totally untrue as I've never met Mike nor have I spoken to him all that much.

Lord knows, if that soap helped get him through college: again, I have the utmost respect. My original post was never meant to be disparaging. In fact, the opposite.

No doubt...whatever works for Mike is what works for him. We're just a large block of impatient crazies.

I definitely enjoy Mike's Natural Soaps. I have referred to myself as a shaving soap nut(or is that a nut with a shaving soap problem?), so if the straightjacket fits....... Happy2

I'd say Reef Point. But very very close second comes Shannon's Soap and Soap Commander.
