I emailed asking if they had the original/different handle available when I saw the razor was in stock but didn’t get a reply. The handle held me back as well. I just don’t like it at all.

I think I saw some comments on a Facebook post from someone asking the same question, and he stated there were not any different handle options.

I didn’t like the handle but I do understand that from his side. He made so few of these that if he even agreed to do one or two different handles for people, then he’s stuck with original handles he can’t use. And there was probably no need for him to feel like he had to do that, since they sold out quickly. I think the whole release sold out faster than what the back and forth would have been with one potential buyer discussing what they’d want instead.
With how few there are, I wonder if he’d even entertain requests after the fact for replacement handles.

The first batch of Athens - 50 pcs. Sold out in 48 hours. On his Facebook page, he answered the question about the possibility of replacing the handle negatively.

I got the razor yesterday and i use it last night.

It is really really good looking razor. I did not feel that it is heavy or bulky and also i love its handle design, not slippery IMHO.

I love mild and effective razors so much because i am a daily shaver guy.

Thats why i love this razor, it mild and also it is effective for daily shavers, i feel not so much but in a good way of blade.

And also while cleaning the stubbles, the water comes out from right and left side like ancient greek pools or etc. very very good design.

Finally showed up unexpectedly after 3 weeks. I’ll say it again: this is the most bang-for-your-buck razor out there. Easily the best case at any price point.

The case has magnetic closure and smells of mahogany. There are 4 rubber feet on the bottom to keep a sound footing as well.

I shaved this morning but couldn’t wait till tomorrow so I gave it a go. The razor shaves milder than the Ares, but that’s not saying much considering how hyper-efficient it’s older brother is. This is not a mild razor. It shaves exactly like how I expected the Overlander would shave. Some blade feel. Effective at cutting without any buffing. I would rate it as karve d efficiency with karve b comfort(with more blade feel).  The razor sings like my other efficient razors when you get the angle right ( which I found to be a generous range)

Finishing was a slight step down from the ares. No biggie for me as I can polish it up quickly this weekend. Also I do miss the blade posts sticking down through the base plate like the ares has.  It broke up the monotony of the flat bottom surface.  Especially since he took the effort to laser his logo at the tip of the post.  One final knock is the lack of substantial lather channels. It would benefit from it. A usual 2 second rinse with other razors became 4-6 seconds.

With all considered this is my favorite mid-aggressive shaving razor ever. Ideal aggression, and ergonomics as a daily driver for my face.

Great post - hands. I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago. Can't wait. Good to hear it shaves like the Overlander! It is certainly a beauty!

How will you polish and with what?

Lack of lather channels is one thing I found puzzling. I guess later comes shooting out the ends which is...different. I am concerned it will not rinse well in cold water.

Living on the edge
I like that wooden box. Was supposed to get my sailor in one of them but something
must've gotten lost in translation.

I agree: $200 is a great price for a razor like this.
