I see them listed, but sold out. Can @"landlgrooming" comment on the knot? I really like the shavemac knots - there is no stink. Have you compared the two? Thanks!

From the Declaration Brushworks FAQ:

Quote:How often will brushes be available?
Brushes will be made available in micro-releases (1-5 brushes at a time). Inventory will be posted at random times several times per week. In the interest of fairness for all parties involved (myself included), I will not be maintaining a waiting list or holding any sort of lottery. It is my sincerest hope that this method provides the most fair situation possible for everyone.

There must have been a few that popped up after the site when live because I've seen a couple of mailcalls for Franklins and a Jefferson - a few lucky people that refreshed and caught them at the right time, I guess.

Geez and people thought the latest paladin release was rough I don't have time to keep an eye out for them then if that's the case that could be a full time job. I guess good luck to the people that got them.

The badger smell is present when they are new but not nearly as bad as many knots I've used. I can de-funk them to the point that the smell is not noticeable once lathered in about 10 minutes using my brush rejuvenator (not a plug for it, it's just what I have on hand) and Dr. Bronner's Tea Tree soap - the Dr. Bronner's has been my weapon of choice for de-funking for a while now and works surprisingly well. If any smell remains after that then I use my secret weapon - Beaudelaire Smile

As for comparisons with Shavemac, I'd say that the Shavemac hair closest to mine is their Two Band Silvertip. My knots are more dense. Both are good.

Sorry, I'm trying to make it as fair as possible - I add them at random times every 2-3 days and tell nobody, so everyone's chance to get one is as equal as possible. I still think this is better than announcing times for releases or maintaining a waiting list and will continue to monitor feedback.

That's fair everyone has the choice to run there business the way they choose and everyone has the right to support who they like. Tho I do not like that business practice but can't make everyone happy and that's the way it should be. No harm feelings I'll just take my business where I can actually spend it and not wait. All good

Got my After the Rain combo with the soap in bison tallow... Smells great on first impression; woodsy, yet rounded by the lavender. Definitely wet pine, mellows with the cedar. Fairly light though after dry down.

Also got my full-sized Harmony tub with matching aftershave combo. Holy smokes. This stuff is potent. Just how I like it!

Full reviews coming over the next couple of days.

I loved the shave I had today using Darkfall soap and alcohol free aftershave. But, I totally forgot that the top insert of the bottom is not a orifice reducer and I went to "bounce" or dribble a few drops of aftershave on my hand. I ended up spilling a bunch onto my carpet, all over my table from what spilled over the bottle, and has a huge puddle of AS in my hand. Hopefully people don't have to deal with this type of mishap in the future.

Product formulation is phenomenal and it should be duly noted that the insert should be replaced with a different design.

He's well aware of the restrictor issue, and working to fix that. It's a bit of a complicated solution.

I don't see how the bottles weren't tested before using them for hundreds (?) of aftershaves. Slight oversight I guess.

Who said they weren't tested? There are lots of commercial products that have NO restrictor at all, for comparison.
