I have both F plates and I like the OC better. It’s a little smoother to me. The person I bought it from felt the opposite. I didn’t notice a difference in efficiency between them.

I agree with that. I have the D, E & F closed comb plates and the E & F open comb plates. I have used the F open comb plate twice now and I think that is the best plate out of the entire range.

A great relaxing shave last night with a mild but, deceptively efficient B plate. 3 passes plus minor chin buffing and it’s a wrap..... No losers in the Karve razor package. I’ve put in 6 straight shaves with the Karve so far with the various plates in the Open Comb configurations (B-D-F) and all have performed extremely well. The razor has excellent balance, weight distribution and great face feel. It’s a do it all shave system that delivers from soup to nuts. A wonderfully made and well executed razor.....

My first experience with the Karve open comb ( plate E ) was fantastic !
I had been waiting patiently for this moment and took a shave break for the last three days.
And I was rewarded with an awesome shave .
I've used a fresh Concord blade and the efficiency of the E open comb is on par
with the efficiency of the Muhle post-2013 R41 coupled with a Feather,I dare to say.
But without all the "drama " that accompanies the latter combination.
In fact ,the so-close shave was unexpectedly smooth and forgiving .
At a moment I was so astonished ,that I must have taken a small break from shaving ,
standing still and just staring at the razor,
probably trying to figure out if there's a magic spell cast on ...
Totally the best shave of my life !
Zero nicks and zero irritation ...except ...huh ..
Well, those blade side -tabs ,sticking out from the sides of the razor head ..
My left ear gained a small scratch and really gets on my nerves when this is happening .
But ,most of it was my mistake .I should 've pulled away my ear a bit .
What a great shaver !
Hey,wait a minute ...
Does this mean that the F plate ,brings an even closer shave ?

I agree...I have a 17-4, a Raw RS-10 and a WR1, but I reach for the Karve OC (and before that the SB) most of the time. It is a fantastic daily driver and with the various plate options and handle options allows a totally customizable shave for any situation!

The only razor that beats the Karve OC in my large collection is the Wolfman WR2 . The Karve beats everything else and for the price, it’s just in the stratosphere!!

Another good shave. The Derby Premium is not my optimal blade but, it gets the job done fairly well if not great. It’s good for about 2-3 shaves before some tugging and pulling starts. The Karve definitely aids the DP blade in that the razor is extremely smooth feeling and holds it precisely and very rigidly. At least on my whiskers that’s what I’ve experienced. Decided to try the GD Preshave with the WSP shave cream and it was a fantastic combination. The WSP soap is great on it’s own but, the GD Preshave just gives it a boost in lather and the face feel post shave is amazing. Awesome finish and feel....
