This is a good question. I ordered an F plate yesterday a few minutes before 12:00 MT. I'm pretty sure I placed the order within a minute of the new plates being posted. I still haven't heard from Karve about shipping.

When I ordered my Karve razor in December, I received a shipping notice a couple of hours later. I'm not sure why this process is different, except that perhaps personal circumstances are affecting the work flow.

I have a question regarding whether the heads and handles are standard thread?

It's on their website:

Razor and each has a #10-32 thread.

Yes. Which means what exactly? Is it a 10/32" ? Do the heads and handles fit other razors?
Not all have an engineering background and I do not understand what #10-32 means.I understand threads but have never heard of this size.
EDIT...I googled and found out.It is not standard but a fraction different to the M5x0.8 metric.Handles and heads will fit others though being a slightly different size they won't fit correctly.This is a reason why consumers from countries outside of the US have trouble with purchasing items that have non metric sizing.
Surely the M5x0.8 would have been a better size to use.

I purchased my razor last saturday and haven’t heard from Karve yet. Yesterday I wrote him to add a D plate to the order and he added without problem sending me an invoice.

Hope that razors can be shipped soon.

I really hate this situation (mentioned above). Just today I sent small complaint to one vendor, because I paid full amount for some soaps more than six weeks ago and nothing happened. I paid as well full amounts for three razors (different vendors but Karve in) and I am waiting for shipping notice at least. All items were marked as available. When I buy some items here B/S/T section I usually receive tracking number next day. It looks, we work better than our vendors, hahaha.

I believe 10-32 was the thread size for vintage Gillette razors, so that is arguably a standard. Most modern razors use M5-.8, arguably another standard. Fatip uses a different metric thread.

As my late father used to say, “the great thing about standards is there’s so many of them to choose from.”

In practice, 10-32 is pretty close to M5-0.8. The Karve head and/or handle will probably work with modern handles; just be careful when starting it to avoid cross-threading, and use your fingertips for a light touch.

Whatever Chris did the 10-32 threading is smooth as butter. I was switching in a new Wizamet Iridium this am and marveled at the connection. I won’t be swapping out handles with the Karve. It’s the nicest handle made right now imo in feel and use and the threading screws down better than even my Wolfman or Paradigm 17-4.

Thanks for that.I was asking for a member on our Aussie forum as he is considering only purchasing the head and was wondering about the threads.I did a little more research when I got home this evening and have learned that 10-32 and M5x0.8 are very close,and another member on the forum said that pitch was almost identical.Almost.(We've been metric here since the phase in started in 1970.Inches,yards and miles confuse the crap out of us.)
If another handle is used with M5 then thread tape will do the trick.
