One on a FB group posted last week, one on B&B this week that supposedly he had received a couple months ago, and the one that Jack was posting pics of everywhere.... Titanium aside, I'm surprised there have been no Aluminum razors released as well and he never had any problems doing those in the past!!

For sure most, if not all, of those are cases where people polished the standard stainless steel razor. I know of at least one case where the person was trying to pass it off as a polished Karve but then wouldn't answer a direct question about whether it was one of the official polished razors.

AlanH81 did an incredible job with his self-polish, and I can't imagine Karve doing better, at least to the naked eye. By comparison, I have seen others where only certain surfaces were polished, and those look unfinished.

I didn't include his in the polished count I was referring to. I think his polished razor is beyond what Chris has put out imo... The ones I listed were "supposedly" from Karve direct and to be honest, just everyday individuals that I personally don't think would know what their doing when it comes to polishing!! One of those razors I talked about was the guy that has it, swears its a polished SS but refuses to show a pic of it and says he's never, and never will, use it because it came with a warning in the package from Karve of how easily it will scratch and show said scratches because of the finish!! I thought this was a little far fetched but never the less, that is what he actually posted...

What's the point of owning one if he's not going to use it, is he just staring at it? lmaoooo

You know, I've met people in life that lie about the stupidest things you can imagine. This sounds like one of those instances. Can't imagine any of that is true, especially the part about Karve telling them not to use the razor they spent "four hours" polishing before delivery.

Fulfillment stories with this company don't sound good.

Question - if you order and pay for one of the items that appear to be available on the website, i.e. brass or regular (not high-polish) stainless steel, are those in stock or able to be delivered in a timely manner? Or are there timing issues there too?

Thanks

My experience was that the items were in stock. I placed 2 separate orders this year, and both were fulfilled and in my mail box within 3 weeks from placing the order. I bought a wide body cap in the late Spring and a handle this Fall.

Personally I’d avoid Karve right now. No response to an email I sent over a week ago and no response on social media.

To me that means they’ve basically gone under. I’m waiting for them to convince me otherwise.

Why would you conclude that? It’s well known that Karve’s customer service is horrendous....as in, the worst in the industry. Why would over a week of unresponsiveness be anything other than a continuation of that horrendous service? To conclude on a public forum like this that they’ve “gone under” seems pretty extreme, if not irresponsible. I’m sure they’re still around. They just suck.

Exactly. Extreme or not, I’d hope others assume the same and hold onto their cash rather than see it disappear into an abyss.

I’ve been known to use hyperbole on occasion. Wink

To be fair, I don‘t think any Karve customers have been cheated out of their money. They have been made to wait unexpectedly long for their razors, yes. If you request a refund this is granted promptly.

My experience with Karve with regards to correspondence is that any emails sent in connection with an open order were answered within a day. This is much the same as the other Canadian razor manufacturer.

Indeed. I too had emailed the vendor about two weeks ago and I've heard nothing as well. I wasn't quite aware of the depth of their issues until right after and then I pretty much resigned myself to find one with the plates I desire on BST or try out another razor.
