FINALLY had a chance to use my Karve Razor today! I have the 3.5” Handle with “D” Plate. I used it with a Feather blade and had a smooth three pass Shave with touch ups for BBS results. No weepers and no irritation! The Shave angle was very intuitive and there was quite a bit of audible feedback. The fit and finish on this Razor is beautiful, and I especially like the grip on the Handle. The three inch Handle would probably be even more to my liking, but I had no issues with the three and a half inch. I had no issues with the blade tabs being exposed, and the head seemed to hold the blade very tightly. I would love to see this Razor in a polished finish. I’m very impressed with this Razor, especially with the results I got after my initial Shave. The Shave was smooth and plenty efficient for me using the “D” Plate. There was a decent amount of blade feel, but it never felt harsh to me. I think this Razor is a bargain for the price it’s selling at. It’s a really nice design in both form and function, and I think Karve Razors has done an excellent job. If you don’t have one I would highly recommend you grab one while it’s priced so well.

Thanks for the report.  I'm hopeful to have a positive experience with mine when it arrives.

I also used my Karve with a D plate for the first time today. I received it over a week ago, but have been using my (also) new Paradigm 17-4 for the last week or so. I have the 3” handle on the Karve, which may be my favorite handle in my entire collection. It feels like magic in my hand. It’s the only handle I’ve ever really noticed, as I’m not a handle guy. Whatever handle the razor comes with is fine by me. But this one is special for its beauty, weight and feel.

It’s my first shave, so I’ll reserve my review of the shave itself. All I can say is that if an “E” plate comes out (or even an “F”), I’ll likely buy it.

I’d be happy to respond after I have a few more Karve shaves under my belt (and my chin).

Well my razor arrived on Monday. Ordered a C plate and a D plate shaved yesterday evening with the C plate and GD Conca d’Oro, had about 3 days worth of growth so about on quarter inch or so but just a great shave.

I have to say I was in hurry so only one pass and a bit of touchup but a great DFS. All in all I this one to me is a keeper for sure.

Just posted this in another Karve thread. My razor and D plate will be delivered Saturday. Chris sent me a 20% off discount for the wait and I was wondering what I would get with it so I sent Chris an email to see if he is ever going to release a more aggressive plate. In his response, he stated that he already has an E and F plate being tested right now that should be available soon. Looking forward to trying the D plate but think I will get the E plate when it’s available. Just used my Level 3 Charcoal Goods and loved it. I own a couple .95 Timeless Razors as well and consider those medium aggressive so I’m sure I will like the D plate but when I want to dial it up a notch, having an E plate should be good.

That’s great news. I think I would be happier with a slightly more aggressive base plate as well. I think this Razor is beautifully designed, and I absolutely love the Handle. Would love to see a polished version in the future as well.
