I had some free time yesterday so polished my Overlander.  Used a Dremel Tool and Jewelers Rouge plus some Maas Metal Protector.[Image: riEx42o.jpg]

Karve Shaving Co.
We’ve got another batch of brass Overlander razors and stands ready.

They’ll be added to our store this evening.

Can a man with a coarse beard get a Damn Fine Shave in one pass (with touch ups) with a Karve Overlander?  Would anyone on this thread care to offer an opinion.  Do I buy one today, or nay?  What say thee?

I have very coarse red hair... basically copper wire. I don't see how i'd get a DFS in one pass. Two, absolutely... One seems to be pushing it to me. It would have to have much more aggression to be able to accomplish that and it absolutely wouldn't be a razor I'd be able to use (because I have sensitive skin x10).

Then again, that one pass would be ATG... Which I've never done on pass #1. So, I could be wrong.

Also, I've only used Personna CC, Astra SP, and Nacet on it so far. Maybe if you used that wider blade... Kai, I think... It might adjust the exposure to a more efficient / aggressive? I don't know.

Very simply, I prefer my R52 to the Overlander most days. Cuts closer, but a little less smooth. Mind you the R52 is pretty darn smooth as you know.

Drae - I too have a red copper wire dense thick beard. 3 days and I look like a werewolf. One pass, no way. 2 passes, maybe. I need 3 with the Overlander. It is not a blade forward aggressive razor. It is a smooth operator however: I love mine with a Permasharp. I get BBS with 3 very comfortable brainless passes.

I did my part... I just bought my second one! It's good enough for me to justify having a backup.
