Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

DFS has been really sweet since I first got here. It has a really good mix of things going on that make it a great forum.

I like to go look over there on a few subforums (blades, soaps, brushes) and it seems like there are plenty of new posts to check out every other week. Quite a good handful of active members over on B&B that still post now were pretty active when I first the first joined  a forum after starting wet shaving. Neat to see a nice chunk of familiar screen names and people posting somewhere in shavedom.

Some years ago, when I only occasionally used to dip into DFS, my impression was that this was quite a fractious place with a lot of threads descending into insults and personal arguments. Was that fair, or did I get a false impression? That has changed a lot and I now find it much more amenable here and I became happy to get more active and post regularly. In fact, now I think the DFS membership is the most trigger-happy with the ‘like’ button out of all the shaving fora, so the atmosphere here has become really positive.

What I find is that the different forums have different group dynamics and personalities. My sense is that DFS is the best place if you want to discuss more high-end products (which can get a negative reaction in other fora). The passarounds are a particular strength of DFS, and there are generally more and better reviews of razors, brushes, soap, etc. here than elsewhere. The activity is a bit light at times, but that’s up to us, and I always find that if you post something, everyone is around and logging on frequently, and ready to reply any time. There is for sure an enormous wealth of expertise among the members here - that is second to none.

Just my 2c.

Confused2  Well, things like the blade gap/exposure comparison charts and hardware identification info in the wiki are useful.
But I don't miss the forums.

We need to have a talk. If it feels like an intervention, it might be! (JK if it wasn't obvious)
