....I prefer a stiffer boar brush? Lots of love gets given to badger brushes...but I just seem to prefer boar....am I missing something in this luxury line of brushes?

Thoughts?

I think it's great that we have so many options to choose from and that you've found what works best for you!

Cost has no affect on shave quality.

After five years of experimenting, I'm now getting the shaves of my life from a $10 DE razor, $10 brush, 10 cent blade and $6 soap. I have more expensive products and items at my disposal, but use what works best....regardless of cost.

Go figure.

All evidence has been buried. All tapes have been erased.

I agree. My very first brush and soap, as many, was the Van der Hagen set that my wife purchased for me. I still have the brush and although many don't like it, for me it is a great brush with what have become wonderfully soft tips. Perhaps mine is an anomaly but regardless it is a keeper. In fact, I may have to pull it out and do a retro first shave SOTD.

I've never used a boar but love my synthetics and my Thater.

William, boars are wonderful. I have boar, badger, horsehair, blends (horsehair/boar, badger/boar), and synthetics and all have a place in my rotation. Yesterday it was my Omega 10049 Professional boar brush and today it was my Strling Shaving Co. Kong synthetic brush and both are amazing. Just use whatever pleases you as there is no right or wrong.

My favorite brush is a Epsilon horse hair and when I want to get all crazy - I use the Stirling Soap Company synthetic brush. If you are happy with the results then that is all that really matters.

Boars are pretty excellent. My only gripe would be the soak time.

I have three Semogue's that I need to incorporate in the rotation. They have been sitting on the den for a long time.
