for anyone that has had to deal with a long problem of ingrown hairs, has anyone had to deal with ingrown hair scars? I think I have a few and I'm wondering if there's anything on the market that helps get rid of them and/or reduce their appearances.

I'm not sure if you can get in the USA but I think bio oil could help?

If you're getting them bad enough that they are scarring, I'd do a quick visit with a Derm for suggestions. I had some keloid scarring starting to appear at the base of my neck. A few visits to the derm, some back and forth discussions and trial and error on my own, and my bumps have been minimal for over a year now with the scars almost completely cleared.

I did finally save up the money for some laser treatments on the scalp. My derm said it should only take a couple of sessions to alleviate the folliculitis issues I've had for years.

There's nothing you can really do short of fraxel laser or CO2 treatments which ain't cheap:

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I used to have a very bad habit of digging ingrowns out, whether they were close to the surface or very deep. a few months back, I dug out one that was pretty deep and I still have what I believe is a small scar from the carnage.

I had better luck when I started just letting them be. Twice a day I wash GENTLY (use fingertips, not palms, and don't dig in too much) with Neutrogena Liquid soap, PAT dry (don't rub, and be gentle) with a fresh, unused towel, apply Tend Skin using cotton balls as directed, then follow with Nivea Creme moisturizer.

Doing that consistently has given me the most improvement, and I haven't needed any antibiotics or anything for over a year. It takes a few weeks to start seeing results, and things can still flare up from time to time, but it's the best routine I've found for me.
