Guess that's what I get for skimming the posts- must have missed some conflict. Personally, I encourage a point of view as well as the courage to voice it.

Having said that, I don't always stir the pot in online communities as I don't often have the time or inclination, but do appreciate the differing perspectives as long as rational and not personal.

Disagreeing with an opinion is fine. The admin deleted some specific posts that got personal and I gave him permission to delete the thread if it continued.

I believe those posts were referring to Len (Len's post). I deleted my comment about free for review posts but stand by it....I don't put much stock into any reviews based on free products, regardless of who is giving them or where they are given. This is not personally directed towards you or anyone specific, but any thread, YT video or blogger. It's just how I feel and not sure I will ever feel differently. This foes for shaving supplies but also every other item I research or read a review on.

If you pay full price for a product, your perception of it is more critical, regardless of how much you try to be impartial and unbiased. Now in your situation, if may be easier as you likely receive more free product then the standard consumer receives.

That said, I don't see OneBlade discussions on B&B or here taking off. It does seem to have taken off on TSN though and I have no idea of all the other forums out there.

As someone else mentioned, competition and companies coming out with new products is usually good for everyone. It puts pressure on everyone to up their game and keep costs down. I never got into cartridge shaving, so the One Blade is clearly not marketed at me.

All evidence has been buried, all tapes have been erased.

If only they'd modify the razor to take the traditional GEM SE blades with a spine, then I'd actually be tempted to buy it. I can get a month or more shaves on a single GEM PTFE SS blade, while the most I was ever able to get with these Feather "spineless" blades was 7. Even then the 7th shave was too much. If I got this razor as is then I would be stuck with only 5 shaves per blade which is a huge issue for me considering I can get 20-30+ from both the GEM SS PTFE and Feather AC Professional blades.

Nice write up and good to see different opinions. Just wish that my skin/hair combo didn't require the utmost blade performance causing me to miss out on so many otherwise great offerings out there today.

Yes, there was a personal attack against me for defending OneBlade, which I responded to with a similar personal attack. Neither post added to the discussion, so it was better they were removed... But there is no need to nuke the thread... it is just that people need to stop making personal attacks if they don't like the razor. I always find it curious how people can say they don't like something they've never tried. How would they know? And posting about something you don't know about, or have no desire in knowing about, detracts from actual, objective information about the product. This is the sort of noise and misinformation that Mark alluded to that has derailed this subject in the past.

I don't think professional reviewers are necessarily any less objective because they receive many different free products. Generally it is the opposite; professional reviewers are usually seen as more objective and detailed than the casual user, and a company will send a product their way in order to be noticed by them, so that they may give their objectivity. I know that Mark has been in this game a long time, and for him to say the OneBlade has become his top razor is really high praise, and I don't think he would say this if it wasn't objectively true for him... he wouldn't have to make it his 'go to' razor in order to give it high marks.

As for people who have a natural prejudice against cartridge style loading systems, or other new shaving technologies which the OneBlade employs, they will simply be unable to objectively accept that there may possibly be different or better ways of shaving than their own. Some people have a hard time with the new and different, and is common with really anything new in history. There was (still is in some quarters) a sort of hateful prejudice against synthetic brushes as well, causing all sorts of personal attacks and animosity from traditional shavers, no matter how much synthetic brush technology has improved over animal hair. Eventually, most people recognized those advantages, and with time and struggle, it was grudgingly accepted as a fact of life, even from traditional purists who were unable or unwilling to change. If this can happen with the OneBlade, it will open the doors to further new and different innovations in shaving, and this can only be better for all of us in the long run.

SharpSpine, I agree with you in not liking the short life of the Feather blades. I feel this is a drawback to the razor. I get two shaves per blade here.... but... they are absolutely a GREAT two shaves! There has been nothing I've used that has shaved as close, or has been so smooth with no irritation. I've stocked up on these blades, bought them in bulk to save money, and for me, compromising on using a blade with a short life is worth it for the best possible shave. And to anyone else that may be worried that the quality of this Feather blade may not be up to par, or that they'll be stuck with no other blade options... don't be, this is as a good quality of blade as you are likely to find anywhere. And most SE shavers will tell you that it is superior to its DE counterpart due to its thickness, sturdiness, and flawless, sharp edge.

Over time, the quality of my shaves with this razor has improved with use in technique. 1st class BBS shaves with only 1 pass (ATG) with touch-ups on the face, and 2 passes with touch ups (WTG, ATG, XTG) on the neck.
