Thanks for the thoughts Hobbyist and Hardtop01 . The price can't be beat and seems worth checking out.

Greg makes wonderful razors. Hope he figures out the other side and grows up.

vtmax tell me about your Wunderbar experience - I was really interested in that one but the release was unimpressive and I've not heard anything positive from anyone who got one.  I haven't heard much at all as a matter of fact.

you haven't heard any positive reviews for the Wunderbar? you are joking right?

I love the X3 for the same reasons I loved the 102 very smooth, very forgiving.  If you shaved with both at the same time with a blindfold on you couldn't feel the difference.  While I would never recommend doing it (the blindfold I speak about) you could expect a nick free shave, it's that safe.  Kinda puts the safe back into safety razor!  Get it, safe back into safety!

Whatever....

Interesting, the 102 was very harsh on my neck from the 1st shave through the 2 weeks I owned it. It may be due to my sensitive skin but I find them very different. I recall the 102 as very wide so that might have been the problem in my case. Regardless, the X3 is a smooh shaver.

I have no sense of humour. I never joke.

I've heard its aggressive, it requires some time to find the right angle and it requires close attention and focus to avoid injury. As I said, I haven't read very much feed back at all but I haven't really gone much further than DFS.

It is aggressive yes which for me is a positive thing. Although is aggressive it feels nearly harmless, to me at least. Finding angle for me was instant even though was my first slant ever. Its the best shaver I ever owned.

I highly recommend this razor although never tried other slants and if other slants are mild then this would be the one I choose. Review on IB site are all positive. Anyways its hard to buy one so maybe you should try out the X3 first.

Note that when I call a razor mild and efficient I mean it's not aggressive feeling but cuts the hair efficiency. I know some people say mild to mean not efficient, but to me aggressive sounds like harsh. Just throwing that out there in case my post leads anyone to think the X3 isn't efficient, because it is.

I was just lucky on the day the Wunderbar was released. It helps to follow RR on Instagram & Twitter. I spent two full weeks with it. The aggression was fine but I found the razor to be tricky and rough in use.

The X3 after 4 shaves is perfect for me so far. It all has to do with head design. Greg absolutely nailed it with the X3. Granted it is a slant but it's better than my Wolfman or Blackbird. Stainless steel razors are getting overrated at this point. It's about the actual shave.

Thanks for the feedback, its always a gamble reading people's feedback because you don't always know what they are looking for in a shave but I do appreciate your opinion. I am a fan of slants generally and I will probably get this one when the opportunity arises because it looks like a very well made razor and I want to support IB in their razor making endeavours. I have the X3 on the way so we'll see how that one shaves once I get it. I do like an efficient and comfortable razor but I don't like razors where I feel that I'm applying a lot of bare blade to my face and one false move will result in serious exsanguinationSmile
Cheers,
Mark

being that I believe Hobbyist and I have fairly similar facial hair "problems", I might have to try one of these.

I got my X3 yesterday and gave it a run this morning. Nice razor. I ran it with the Viking's Sword blade but I think it might like something sharper, Feather or Nacet. The fun of finding the right blade for a new razor beginsSmile
