Strangely, I think it would be Old Spice Classic even though I'd never tried it until fairly recently.
I found an old AVON scent that I love. Problem is that the scent name label fell off the bottle. I can't find it again anywhere, but I know it's the nicest scent I have ever smelled. I have no clue what notes re in it, it's not typical cologne scent or like any artisan scent either. All I can say is that it is addictive. And I'd wear it everyday if I did not fear running out of it.
I'm a niche guy and a fragrance enthusiast, so it's difficult for me to pick just one. However, if I did it would have to be something versatile, suitable for work and play, and eminently pleasant to those around me. In that respect, the only plausible answer (for me and my own tastes) is Creed's Aventus.
There are many other fragrances which I wouldn't mind smelling for the rest of my life, such as Roja Dove's Danger Pour Homme Parfum, Vetiver Extrait, and Diaghilev, but it's tough to find a single fragrance that suits all occasions.
IMHO, YMMV, etc.
