I finally trimmed my beard earlier tonight to thicken my hair and tomorrow is the day I decide to go ahead and give my Schick Krona a whirl. I'm a little nervous but I'm sure I'll be fine as long as I apply NO pressure what so ever. I will update this thread once I'm done with the first shave.

You sure you don't want to create another thread once you've finished shaving? I think you finishing a shave with your trusty Schick Krona is DEFINITELY worth another thread.

By the way, your fathers warning in your sig is truly comedic gold. I laughed heartily from my belly at it.

In a way it's true. Very first time you put blade to skin, you'll nick yourself. I know for sure because it happened to me the first time I shaved with a disposable.

Alright now you go lather up and shave pilgrim. Pull that trusty Krona out of your holster twirl it and glide it over that beard. Then hurry up and post another thread telling us all about it. I for one will be beaming like a proud father.

Before the shave we need to build anticipation for creating the lather...then a request for a tutorial.

Then the fear of using a used brush...the cooties that live in there...then a request to see if it is safe to use.

Then solicit ideas on the soap to use, is it OK if its used previously, is it worth anything...then a request to see if Ivory is OK to use 'cuz his Dad used it (because his father obviously knows his shaving etiquette)

And we havent even broached blades or aftershaves for him. Can you imagine the mental anguish he would suffer to finally build up the courage to use his favorite razor for the first time only to be half way through his first shave to realize...he hadnt set out or decided on a forum consensus for an aftershave?

So, for the man that needs to shave, here are some future topics for you to initiate, because I know you are hungry and I feel the need to feed you.
You are NOT ready to shave.

Really? You're going to ruin it for me? I haven't used it yet because I had to cut down all of the extra hair on my face but with other stuff in life non shaving related, I haven't been able to get the chance to do so. But yes, I am sure I am ready to shave with it now. I have soap, brush and blades.

By the way, your post made me laugh for some reason.

Thanks BadDad. I plan to enjoy safety razors and straights during my shaving hobby.
