I was preparing my new RazoRock HAWK DLC coated stainless steel razor for its first outing on Friday and put in a new Schick Proline P-30 blade, one of six that I purchased from TryABlade. When I looked down at the head of the razor I noticed something odd; the blade did not go the length of the head. Thinking that wasn't right, I opened another of the Schick blades from the same Try-A-Blade order and, sure enough, it perfectly went across the whole head.
Looking at them side by side, it is easy to see that the short blade has been truncated for some reason. This is strictly a guess on my part but I think the machine must have cut the blade at the wrong place and quality control at the plant missed it. Jason probably didn't notice when he repackaged it and I don't blame him at all. I certainly didn't pay attention until I saw it in the razor. I would never think to look for a flaw like that and have certainly never seen such a thing before in an unused blade.
I am so glad I noticed the blade before I used it because it probably could have taken a nice cut out of me with that sharp corner just ending about 8/10ths of the way across the blade gap. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
