First shave with a new blade - forgive all nastyness.
Second shave with a new blade - forgive nothing.
Two strikes - and they are out.
Four strikes - waaaay out!

Mickey, I tried those Feather blades in my Valet Autostrops (I have three or four different models) and I have never been able to get a comfortable shave.  Whether it's the razor, the blade, or the combination I don't know.  I do love the look of the Valets but I no longer bother shaving with them.

Freddy,

Ditto.

But I simply can not let them R.I.P.

Every once in a while when I am overcome by the urge, I shall try another tack and try to rouse them from their stupor.

Mickey, if you ever figure it out then please let me know. The funny thing is, I refuse to get rid of those razors. I love their Steampunk style and, like you, keep hoping that, eventually, I'll get a decent shave from one of them. Smile

Now I might consider trying a Feather AC blade razor. For 20 bucks, why not right?

I was skeptical of razors that take Feather AC blades until I tried Feather AC blades. They are first-rate, IMO. I'm very happy with my AlumiGoose V2 + Feather ProSuper blade.

And, to paragraph paraphrase Undecided Samuel Johnson, when a man is tired of SE razors, he is tired of life! (Sorry, Hector! Big Grin )

I recently started using AC blades on my Feather SS razor. They are really smooth, rigid and sharp. So yes, anyone who hasn't tried AC blade should probably get one of this cheap one to get a feel.
