An arrogant HP person agreed in a statement that HP would roll back the "security update" designed to "enhance and give full printing satisfaction" to their customers. But HP also said that they would do it again in the future. So after I get the fix, I'll be removing my printers access to the internet. When it poops itself it will be my last HP of any type. Oh, they also stated that the problem was in their poor communication. What arrogant ___________s! (fill in the blank with the adjective word of your choice) They communicated just fine, I got it! They had error messages across my screen telling me what they did. It seems that HP holds us in the same contempt that they treat their workers with.

My next printer will have ink tanks that I fill, and I will never own anything HP again.

High Price isn't the only printer manufacturer to do this. All or nearly all the inkjet makers have done this for a long time. Sooner or later (usually sooner) the refill vendors find a workaround. Have you checked Carrot Ink to see if they have working refills for your printer model?

If you are looking for another brand, Epson has worked well for me over the years.

Presently I have plenty of ink that's working fine except for HPs sabotage. I have heard of Carrot, I just never did business with them.

When this printer poops itself I'll check all of the various brands, but I do know that I want one with ink tanks that I fill. I think Epson has one that might work for me. I heard about it in an ad over the radio.
