Hi all,

we have a neat tagging feature on the site that's similar to facebook, twitter & instagram. If you want to tag a user inside a post, you can tag them with @username or @"the user" if the user has a space in their name. as an example, I'll tag Freddy & Mr Polski since his name has a space in it: Freddy & Mr Polski

just an update that the tagging feature is now integrated with the alert system.  when someone tags you in a post, you should receive an alert. If you do not want to receive alerts when someone tags you, you can adjust your alert settings in your user cp:

I just wanted to update this thread to let everyone know that we implemented a plugin to allow the auto completion of tagging users.  if you type in @ and then the first 3 letters/numbers of a user's name, it'll automatically provide a list of users that fit that criteria.  choose which user you're trying to tag from the list and it'll work as expected.

example, if I type in @ and (spaced out so it doesn't try to complete a tag), it'll show these names in the list:

How do you properly tag a user that has a space in their name? I've tried it before and it didn't seem to work. Is there a special trick to it?

Used to be that you had to use the "@" sign followed by " then the multiword name and close quotes. Now it should auto populate and you can simply type @ sign, first few letters, select the name and hit enter.
