I just went to the local USPS to ship a Floid 400ml bottle to CA from NJ.

And I was told that it would cost 15 USD!!

How do you guys ship aftershave bottles or a large collection of aftershaves? Specially the vendors, if I buy 4 100ml bottles, do they pay 15 dollars?

Any suggestions/ alternatives will be appreciated.

Thanks

You have little choice. Once you declare it as flammable, it can only be shipped ground. Pack it well. Good Luck. I saw your B/S/T ad. Best to check out shipping before you set your price.

Well, Yes, I also found out after doing some 'google' that their isn't really any cheaper option, so I am sending this one out tomorrow.

Lesson learned, not buying aftershaves without trying a sample first. I am really curious about the vendors though, they must hate the shipping rates.

the weight can be the killer because it pushes you into certain restrictions. I shipped 1 soap and 1 aftershave to California earlier in the year and it cost me like $13-$14.

Just for the sake of comparison, I recently ordered several items from Spain to be shipped to the U.S., and that shipment includes an aftershave. Shipping for the entire lot was €11.95.

Now — I read about this vendor’s shipping prices on a forum thread from a few years ago, and apparently shipping back then was a lot more expensive. I don’t know how shipping costs from Europe have decreased instead of increasing, but I wish we could see the same happen with shipping costs within the U.S.

In recent times I have left several potential purchases sitting in the cart because of the high CONUS shipping costs.

Shipped out my AS today, costs me 15$, I set the price imagining 7$ shipping :/

Anyway, all part of the learning process, and also I will appreciate the effort our artisans put into their products even more. It must be hard for small businesses to compete online with BIG guys when shipping is this much.

Shipping can be expensive. A short time ago I shipped a very small package to Canada - $36 USD.

Just last week I shipped a package, slightly larger but still modest, to Italy. $100USD.

Definitely check rates prior, particularly without volume discounts.

This is why I rarely sell aftershaves I don't like. It's cheaper to either trade them for something you do want (and at least get some value out of it), or trash it.

Well, I think his problem was that it was the huge 400ml bottle of Floid, not that it was an aftershave. I just sold a couple 100ml aftershaves no problem. The shipping for those was under $4.
