I started collecting DE razors about fifteen years ago, when they were very inexpensive and ebay was full of beautiful vintage Gillettes. My SEs are a recent acquisition, and were also quite inexpensive. There is very little demand for them, which is strange because they shave beautifully. A few months ago I decided to give straight shaving a go. I fell in love with it, particularly with the Feather AC, which gives me a closer shave than any straight I've tried. My RAD kicked in hard. But, as I was telling my wife, the availability of products is very uncertain in this hobby. You read about a great soap, razor, blade, aftershave and find out it's discontinued, out of stock, etc. Personna is soon to be out of the blade business. I read about guys clamoring for Razorock Stealth Slants and hiring shaman to work spells to get them back in stock. How many tears have been shed over the end of Klar Kabinett shaving soap? Those of us suffering from a tendency to hoard find our paranoia justified in this hobby Sad

The short answer is too many. Or not enough depending on ones outlook.

The long answer is 23 in the cabinet and they get used, 4 of which are DE the rest are SE and one Rolls. I didn't count the ones in storage. There might be another 15-20 if I did count them. It didn't happen overnight but over the course of a few years of selective buying.
