Marco,

You should be aware that sometimes the furious action is filmed in a mirror.

That will always confuse matters - especially a wedding ring. Then you must find out what country the shaver is in or if he is a southpaw.

Danger lurks at every whisker in this salubrious self-indulgence.

But it is well worth the risks.

Nothing is as it seems is it? The fellow in the video does his XTG pass from nose to ear while I do my XTG from ear to nose. I don't think I'll continue with 6 passes because thats just a lot, maybe even too many

I generally do 3 pass shave and a touch up shave if I missed any left-overs.

WTG.
XTG.
ATG.
Touch UP.

I have found that I can't do a 2-3 pass DFS+/BBS- shave every day. I can do them every other day, or I can do a 1 pass plus touch ups every day.

I am lucky. I am not limited to the number of passes I use by skin problems.

I wonder how many of those problems might be caused by too much rubbing and scrubbing when face lathering.

Using an ordinary bowls for a week or two might provide much needed relief - and a few more luxurious pases and a valid excuse to buy an exotic scuttle.

I usually do three passes.  It used to be WTG, XTG, and ATG.  Anymore, I find myself doing hybrid versions of those passes. WTG/XTG, WTG/XTG(opposite direction), and XTG/ATG.

My whiskers don't seem to soften up during pre-shave much and my skin is somewhat sensitive(prone to bumps and ingrown hairs.)  The beard growth is almost parallel with the skin, so the whiskers grow into the skin if cut too short in certain spots, especially my neck. My technique and passes continue to develop almost three years into this little adventure of traditional wet shaving.

Fortunately, I still enjoy my shaves! Happy

Two passes with an occassional touch up if I haven't been careful.

At last, a variation on the theme.

And it makes such sense.

It always has been a three pass shave for me even before I knew of such delights as shaving forums and the internet. I (and my skin) prefer a milder shave and three passes, with perhaps a touch here or there if really needed, hits the spot for me.
